The Sunrise mine is in northwestern Maricopa County and accessible via an improved dirt road, about two miles off the pavement. The 180 acres are comprised of nine unpatented mining claims and come complete with a leaching permit. There are 300 tons of ore sitting above ground in piles, ready to move. There is a big room underground, which could just be open pit mined for a while. There are no recent geological studies, but the rough estimate of the reserve would be one million tons of one troy ounce per ton average, giving the mine an estimated value of $1.5B.
