Description

For 20 years we have provided landscape contractors particularly in the native and restoration trade with nursery stock of native origin. Trees and Shrubs endemic to the area grown to support pollinators like bees, butterflies and small animals. These growing containers are hand carried. We don't do any retail sales. Everything is either shipped or picked up to order. A cadre of steady customers we sell and distribute to is part of the deal. We have sold some of them for many years. This is a growing nursery catagory and there is very little competition. Big Box stores and most retail garden centers will never enter into this market sector. It is unique and specialized. At the same time for those who are conservators of natural areas, this is a ecofriendly business. Once you are in it you will fall in love with the vision of restoring the habitat to resemble what it was 500 years ago.

The owner is ready to retire and would like to find a person to carry on the business. It is located strategically in a far west suburb of Chicago. Most of the business occurs in the populous northern IL and Southern WI areas.

Does require some management, although currently managed professionally. I operates almost by remote control. Decent opportunity for an absentee owner.

This makes money but needs expansion that the current owner no longer has an appetite for. Before the 2008 collapse the company has sales in excess of a half million dollars and made $150,000.

This will require a down payment and the new owner will need to have a credit line of $75,000 which will not be breached and is usually liquidated within 4 months. Company has very good credit with suppliers who provide excellent term.

While this could be an absentee operation, it would benefit from competent horticultural oversight. The Native tree and shrub business is very exciting and a fast growing segment of the nursery marketplace.

Contact me for more information and I will provide you last 3 years operating and the balance of what is included in the sale as well as a formal offer.
